Knowing that your family member is situated someplace secure where their independent lifestyle can best be maintained for happiness, health and well-being is foremost. Socializing with friends and new neighbors at The Evergreens comes easily and fills days and evenings with interesting, fulfilling activities and conversation. There are many additional benefits that will become apparent to resident and family members alike as their new retirement lifestyle becomes familiar.
Tasks, appointments and errands are much easier to manage living at The Evergreens, particularly in bad weather. In large part because so many activities, such as banking, a beauty and barbershop, the Health Clinic, a 2500 volume library and a chapel are all there; including voting, The Evergreens is a designated polling place. Weekly, scheduled transportation is provided for shopping trips to grocery stores and the mall. Transportation is also provided on Sundays to the First Presbyterian Church and Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church. Trips to the airport or other specific destinations require an additional fee based on mileage.
Dining is a favorite pastime at The Evergreens. Different dining venues, menus that change with the season and the occasion keep a daily event far from routine. Families are welcomed as guests with meal charges appearing on the resident’s monthly statement. There is a lovely, special- occasion private dining room available for reservation so that traditional family events can easily continue.
Overnight visitors may be entertained in a resident’s apartment for up to three days without additional charge excepting any meals in the dining rooms. Any visit exceeding 14 days must be approved. Private accommodations are also available for the comfort of overnight visitors. The Evergreens has two guest lodgings for family and friends: the Guest House at 313 Bridgeboro Road and the smaller Buonanno Center on campus.
The Evergreens is a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community with a national CCAC accreditation that is awarded only to those communities who pass a rigorous internal exam and on-site survey of its program and business practices and sufficiently demonstrates its conformance to the highest standards. This meaningful accreditation gives a large measure of comfort that your loved one is receiving the best care and additionally that good business practices are being followed, an added assurance that your family is protected.
